About This Place

Located at the heart of City Island, Bronx, Sea Shore Restaurant stands out as an inviting seafood haven that perfectly marries the freshest ocean flavors with a warm, welcoming ambiance. Specializing in seafood, sushi, and classic American cuisine, this beloved establishment has earned a stellar reputation for both its impeccable dishes and charming setting.

Step inside and you’ll be greeted by an atmosphere that effortlessly balances casual comfort with a touch of seaside elegance. Whether dining indoors or enjoying the outdoor seating, guests are treated to lovely views of the marina, sparkling waters, and the distant Manhattan skyline — a scenic backdrop that enhances every bite.

Sea Shore’s menu is a celebration of the sea’s bounty paired with hearty favorites that satisfy every craving. A must-try is the Snow Crab Legs, served steaming hot with just the right hint of sweetness, and the tender Baby Back Ribs that fall off the bone with smoky perfection. For those who delight in classic seafood dishes, the Lobster Roll bursts with fresh lobster lightly dressed and nestled in a soft bun, while the Seafood Risotto offers a creamy, luxuriously rich experience infused with the day’s freshest catches.

The sushi selection is expertly crafted, but it’s the Oysters Rockefeller that often steals the show — briny, buttery, and topped with a savory blend that complements their natural oceanic flavor. Surf and turf aficionados will appreciate the extravagance of the Jumbo Surf and Turf Special, featuring top-quality cuts and succulent shellfish that make for a truly memorable feast.

Sea Shore Restaurant doesn’t just stop at seafood. Prime steak lovers can indulge in robust options like the 22 oz TBone Steak, juicy Filet Mignon, or the impressive 25 oz Porterhouse Steak, all cooked to perfection and bursting with rich, mouthwatering flavors. For a lighter but equally flavorful experience, the gluten-free and vegetarian options such as the Gluten Free Pasta With Seasonal Vegetables and Grilled Seasonal Vegetables provide fresh, thoughtfully prepared dishes that cater to diverse tastes.

The beverage menu is equally impressive with expertly mixed cocktails like the zesty The Ultimate Margarita or the tropical and refreshing Banana Colada. No celebration is complete without trying their decadent Birthday Cake dessert, rounding out a dining experience that feels both indulgent and heartfelt.

Real patrons paint a vivid picture of Sea Shore’s charm and quality. Ma Erlinda Abane calls it “the best restaurant in City Island,” praising everything from the attentive hostess and owners to the generous portions and fresh seafood that never disappoint. Julian Pena raves about the freshly prepared fried shrimp, stating it’s the best on City Island, while Mark Zamora poetically describes the restaurant as a Bronx legend that “smells like the ocean and tastes like home.” Even when faced with a busy night and minor hiccups in service, guests like Lo W. highlight the remarkable food and fantastic drinks that keep them coming back.

From the moment you pull up and are greeted by their free valet service, to the last bite of one of their sumptuous dishes, Sea Shore Restaurant offers a dining experience steeped in authenticity and thoughtful hospitality. It’s no surprise that it has become a cherished gem among locals and visitors alike — a place where every meal feels like a special occasion by the water’s edge.

The best restaurant in City Island! You don't need to go farther. As soon as you cross the bridge turn right. They have free valet (please tip the helpful guys though). Hostess and owners are attentive. Best ambiance both indoor and outdoor, delicious and fresh seafood, generous portion. Lovely views of the water, marina and a little bit of Manhattan skyline. Until next time!!

Waitstaff was slow, but correcteditself. Food was fabulous. Drinks were great. Prices are better here then the strip of seafood restaurants. Dining room is fabulous.

Oct. 18,2025, visited Seashore Restaurant at City Island, a gem in the Bronx to celebrate my son’s birthday. As a foodie and someone who travels a lot and has my business, it truly did not disappoint me. I have been to mostly all the restaurants at City Island, for over 50 years and been to this restaurant many times, but it has been a while I ate at this restaurant. To me this restaurant is on top of my seafood restaurant list for 2025. The waitress Alma, was exceptional. Alma, was very professional, kind and very attentive, and outstanding to many I have encountered. I truly will recommend Alma as your waitress, and trust me you will definitely be not disappointed. The food and drinks were as followed: 1: Drinks Pina Mojito, Corona Extra, DosEquis 2: Food Parlla for 2 , Fried Calamari & dessert Tartufo. I will also say the drinks were excellent too. I encourage many to go to this restaurant and ask for Alma, you will not be disappointed! I will definitely return back and will ask for Alma because I know she will be very attentive and appreciative. The ambiance was very nice too. In conclusion the Paella and the fried calamari were mediocre but passable. Though a little expensive for the food we had but nothing can take away from celebrating my son’s birthday and the bonding we had together.

Sea Shore is an excellent spot on City Island if you are in search of a deliciously filling meal! Everyone in my party ordered the fried shrimp, and we all agreed that it was the best shrimp that we have had on City Island. The food came out fresh, and the shrimp were high-quality. While we were at the restaurant, there was an event occurring during our visit, so the waitstaff did forgot to bring out certain items a few times and would need a reminder. The food and atmosphere made up for the service 10x over. I strongly recommend Sea Shore.

Sea Shore Restaurant, City Island: Where Bibs Become Battle Armor and Shellfish Dreams Come True Forget the Michelin stars, velvet booths, and molecular foam nonsense. My all-time favorite restaurant in NYC is a Bronx legend that smells like the ocean and tastes like home: Sea Shore Restaurant in City Island. I’ve been coming here since I was 16, dragged in by my parents and now I drag them in. It’s tradition, it’s sacred, it’s shellfish warfare. This place isn’t trying to impress you with chandeliers or foie gras. It’s got something better: the salty breeze of the Long Island Sound, the clatter of crab legs, and the kind of ambiance that says, “You’re about to eat like Poseidon on cheat day.” Our order? The Broiled Shellfish Feast for Two. We get two of them for three people. That’s right. My mom, dad, and I have been tag-teaming this monster meal for 20 years. It arrives like a seafood volcano: lobster, shrimp, clams, mussels, and scallops piled high like they’re trying to escape the plate. You don’t eat this meal, you survive it. Bibs on, hands in, dignity off. The seafood? Always fresh. Always perfect. I’ve tried the fancy spots in Manhattan, the trendy joints in Brooklyn, even the hidden gems in Queens. But nothing beats Sea Shore. It’s the kind of place that makes you nostalgic while you’re still chewing. Celebrations, milestones, random Tuesdays it’s all better here. If you’re craving seafood and want to feel like a crustacean conqueror, Sea Shore is your spot. Just don’t wear white. And bring backup.

We had a mixed experience at this restaurant. Our waiter, Felix, was absolutely excellent — attentive, friendly, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout the meal. He really made the experience memorable in the best way. He even surprise us with a desert since we were celebrating our anniversary. However, I was disappointed to witness manager Debbie speaking rudely to staff during our visit. It created an uncomfortable atmosphere that detracted from the otherwise pleasant service. Great food and service from Felix, but the management’s treatment of employees needs improvement.

I was very satisfied with my visit. It’s rare to meet such a friendly server in New York, and both the food and the server’s kindness made it a memorable experience. My thanks to the lovely lady who served us by the window facing the parking lot. As for the food, the grilled fish was excellent, while the oysters were just okay. The portion of the risotto was enormous—it definitely felt worth the price. I would be happy to visit again.

The food was fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor — especially the seafood, which tasted like it came straight from the ocean. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing, perfect for a nice evening out. A special shoutout to our waiter, Keith, who made the whole experience even better. He was attentive, friendly, and genuinely cared that we were enjoying our meal. He checked in just the right amount, gave great menu recommendations, and made us feel completely at home. If you’re looking for delicious food and top-notch service, I highly recommend Sea Shore Restaurant — and definitely ask for Keith!
